Hi, I’m Cecilia Souza—the owner and operator of Mini Mermaids Infant Aquatics®. Swimming has been a part of my life since I was a young girl. I grew up a competitive swimmer and started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at fifteen. Being in the water has always been my sanctuary and safe place!

I am a certified Infant Aquatics Survival® Specialist, trained in the industry-leading self-rescue swimming method. My journey began with traditional swim instruction, where I spent over ten years teaching children and adults of all ages. However, after learning about the lifesaving impact of Infant Aquatics Survival® lessons, I knew I had to bring this method to my community!

Before launching Mini Mermaids, I also worked as an elementary school teacher. That experience confirmed my true passion for working with children—teaching, inspiring, and empowering them. Tragically, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under five years old. That’s why I decided to combine my lifelong love of the water with my dedication to helping children. Through Mini Mermaids Infant Aquatics®, I empower little ones to not only love the water but also develop the life-saving skills they need to stay safe in it. Because, even one drowning is too many.

Mini Mermaids Infant Aquatics® is proud to be the first survival swim program in Southern New Hampshire. I’m honored to bring this life-changing, essential program to my hometown and the surrounding communities.

When I’m not in the pool, you’ll likely find me with a cup of coffee in hand, lost in a good book, crafting something creative, or soaking up the sunshine at the beach!
